O, Joy that seekest me through pain
I cannot close my heart to thee.
I trace the rainbow through the rain
And feel the promise is not vain:
That morn shall tearless be.
– George Matheson
We live lives that are woven through with pain, hardship, and suffering – “Life is Pain” as one philosopher said. But those who are in Christ live with a promise, a promise that our savior will return and with him bring healing, comfort, and justice for his children. Our wounds will be bound up, our mourning, crying, and pain brought to an end, and we will have nothing but joy and satisfaction worshiping in the light of his glory.
